Statement of EEO Policy

This EEO Public File Report is filed in compliance with Section 73.2080(c)(6) of the FCC’s 2003 EEO Rule and has been prepared on behalf of KDSP, KXDP, and KJAC Radio.

LONG TERM RECRUITMENT MEASURES

During the reporting period of 2011, the Station engaged in the following long-term outreach initiatives designed to build interest and inform young people about careers in broadcasting.

 

 

INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS/COLLEGE LEVEL OPPORTUNITIES

The Station is working to develop internship programs open to college students, which allow students to receive college course credit for participating. The station strives to hire interns from all backgrounds and from a wide variety of educational institutions.  Rolling internship opportunities are always posted in the “jobs” section of the station website. This information is also regularly disseminated to colleges and universities. All interns at the station are encouraged to work in a variety of different departments and to speak to all station employees about the various jobs available in broadcasting.

 

Internships filled over the reporting period have included programming and board operations, marketing, promotions and street team, and sales.

STATION TOURS/ JOB SHADOWING

During the reporting period, Tom Manoogian, Managing Partner of the station consistently provided tours to prize winners who visited the station as well as to groups of students from All Souls Catholic School, Boy Scouts of America, and numerous other organizations. These visitors were also given the opportunity to sit in on a portion of our local shows (Les and JoJo from 12p to 3p and CJ and Kreckman from 3p to 6m) as well as speak with the board operators and producers of the shows to learn more about the entire process of a live broadcast.

 

JOB FAIRS

Front Range Sports Network plans to be more active during the 2012 reporting period as revenue allows. We will be participating in the Denver Outlaws Career Symposium in April 2012 to discuss careers in sports, entertainment, and broadcasting.

 

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Community involvement and sponsorship of events of the reporting period have included:

 

September 9th, 2011- Emily Griffith School of Technology– Managing Partner of KDSP, Tom Manoogian, emceed the 2011 Emily Griffith Gala event which raises financial support for student scholarships, innovative projects, capital improvements, instructional equipment and endowment.

December 15th, 2011- The Samaritan House Radiothon– All day Radiothon using KDSP talent to generate money for the Samaritan House of Denver by auctioning sports memorabilia, tickets, and special events.

 

 

MANAGEMENT AND EMPLOYEE TRAINING

All department managers are aware that all hiring and promotion is to be conducted in a manner that is free of improper discrimination of any kind.

 

All employees of the station are expected to be familiar with the company’s standards of conduct including but not limited to the importance of avoiding discrimination and harassment in the workplace as referenced in the employee handbook.
